"Santorini is Black and White"
The beauty of Santorini is an inspiration to all photographers. The island is a symphony of blue and white with the other pastel colors adding their tones to the music.
This book looks at the beauty of the island in black and white and various shades of gray. It not only looks at the traditional beauty of Fira and Oia, but looks to the back streets of Pirgos, Emporio, Akrotiri and Megalochori for the more traditional life of Santorini.
A further section is dedicated to the tragedy of the many houses that are no longer occupied. The residents who can no longer afford the prices on the island have moved on. Many of the houses are in disrepair or in ruins. Some are now being renovated to very high standards as summer homes for those who can afford them. These ruins offer another form of beauty for the lens to capture.
This book offers a glimpse of the beauty of the island. Take a trip through the lesser known areas and use it as an inspiration to discover the other side of Santorini.
